ABOUT US

PowerHouse Christian Church
is one of Greater Anderson, South Carolina's rising ministries, with a congregation geographically stretched from as far as Spartanburg, SC to Gainesville, Ga.

After attending a Partners' Convention in 2003 at the World Changers Church International under the leadership of Dr. Creflo A. Dollar, the Spirit of God moved upon the heart of Founder, Pastor Lenny Gaines, to begin a Bible-Teaching, Faith-Increasing, People-Reaching ministry in the Tri-County community comprised of Anderson, Seneca, Clemson, and surrounding cities.

The first official service was held on the First Sunday in August of 2004 at the Littlejohn Community Center in Clemson, SC. Prior to Sunday Morning services, afternoon services were held at the Hendrix Student Center on the campus of Clemson University.

The initial congregation included Pastor Gaines, our three charter members, and a host of visitors each week. As the congregation increased in weekly attendance, in early 2005, Pastor Gaines felt the need to have a community presence hence opening our Administrative Offices at 105-5 Wall Street in the City of Clemson. While at the administrative office, we began Wednesday Night services and various other events.

One Spring afternoon in 2006, Pastor Gaines decided to turn onto Welpine Road to avoid the afternoon traffic jam, which we now know was a set up by God. While traveling Welpine Rd., Pastor drove past a vacant 4,000 sq. ft. facility which now serves as our worship center, The Power Center.

To begin the process of moving, Pastor Gaines led the now 12 member congregation into a $16,000 Renovation Campaign and we were able to celebrate our 2nd Year Anniversary in August 2006 in the new facility. The building was dedicated the following April.

The Power Center was outfitted with an 85 seat Sanctuary, Administrative, Conference and Product areas, and Pastor's Study. It has also been the birthing site for the following ministries: Winning Women Fellowship, Men of Power, Power Generation, Media Team, Steward Leaders, Parking Team, Power Chorale, and The Voices of Power Mass Choir.

In 2008, a van was purchased for members who needed transportation to Worship events and for out-of-town travels.

As of June 2009, PowerHouse has one full time and three part time paid staff members along with a host of volunteers to maintain the excellent operations of the ministry.

In early 2010, we began the Power In The City radio broadcast which airs on WYPJ Joy 95.3FM. The church also does a weekly broadcast on the world wide web through our video subscription portal on Youtube. We have a growing Partnership group known as our Power Partners Circle of 25 partners and growing that are comprised of Powerful People in the region and as far away as the Samoan Islands.

Now in our 8th year of ministry, we have a congregation of over 100 individuals hosting two weekly Sunday Services as of January 2012 and a weekday service on Wednesdays. Our  "With Ten We Win" $60,000 Capital Goal is the final goal in order to move into a larger facility to accommodate our growing family and provide space for our youth.

Our History of growth, movement, and increase proves that the hand of God is resting upon this ministry and we are in expectation of what He has in store for PHCC.
